Postcranial anatomy and osteohistology of an early prozostrodont cynodont from the Upper Triassic of Brazil

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Prozostrodon brasiliensis, a probainognathian cynodont of the clade Prozostrodontia, is recognized as a key taxon for understanding the origin of Mammaliaformes and mammals. Despite detailed investigations of its cranial anatomy, the postcranial skeleton has received comparatively less attention.

Anatomical Study and Classification of Foramina of the Squamous Part of the Temporal Bone

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The postglenoid foramen (PGF) is a rarely reported anatomical variant of the temporal bone, with limited data on its morphology, prevalence, and clinical relevance, particularly in non‐European populations. This study aimed to investigate the anatomy and frequency of foramina located on the squamous part of the temporal bone, including the PGF,

Experimental Investigation on Steam Generation Performance of a Solid Thermal Storage‐Based Steam Production System

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
1. Against the backdrop of the dual carbon goals and the transformation of the energy structure, traditional coal and natural gas boilers struggle to meet the demand for economical and stable steam supply in small and medium‐sized enterprises. In response, this study proposes a solid‐state thermal storage steam production system, aiming to provide a ...

Semicircular canal size in fossil fishes and amphibians

open access: yes, 1981
Mean semicircular canal radius of curvature as a function of body mass was estimated for 18 fossil fish and 2 fossil labyrinthodont amphibians. The statistically significant regression for fossil fish is closely comparable to that of Recent teleosts ...

Ontogenetic development of vestibular reflexes in amphibians

open access: yesFrontiers in Neural Circuits, 2016
Vestibulo-ocular reflexes ensure gaze stability during locomotion and passively induced head/body movements. In precocial vertebrates such as amphibians, vestibular reflexes are required very early at the onset of locomotor activity.

Labyrinthine Abnormalities on MRI in Untreated Otosclerosis: Prevalence and Clinical Relevance

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
In untreated otosclerosis with labyrinthine symptoms, delayed 3D FLAIR MRI rarely demonstrates endolymphatic hydrops but frequently reveals blood–labyrinth barrier (BLB) disruption. BLB enhancement is spatially associated with cochlear endosteal and round window involvement and increases with the severity of the hearing loss phenotype.
