Abstract We derive an exact representation for trUn, where U is the quantum propagator associated with an Anosov-perturbed cat map. Semiclassical stability of asymptotically locally flat spaces

Constructing a partition function for Euclidean quantum gravity by using asymptotically locally flat instantons will result in an imaginary contribution to the partition function. A negative eigenmode for the differential operator giving a one-loop contribution to the partition function has been found for the Taub-bolt instanton.
