Improving the Reliability of Semiconductor Converters
Russian Electrical Engineering, 2020This paper considers the opportunities for improving the reliability of power semiconductor converters by increasing the installed capacity margin and modifying the configuration of power circuit diagrams. As shown by regression analysis, the unit cost of an autonomous voltage inverter with an increase in the installed capacity of the frequency ...

Semiconductor Thermoelectric Converters with Improved Precision
Journal of Electronic Materials, 2012To reduce the influence of the Thomson effect, computer models of thermoelectric measuring converters based on thermopiles with a small number of thermocouples have been constructed. The temperature distribution was studied in a converter heater with a nonuniform arrangement of thermocouples and in a heater with variable heat release along its length ...

Modulation algorithms for controlling semiconductor converters
Russian Electrical Engineering, 2015Different algorithms for controlling semiconductor converters are considered using the example of an autonomous inverter. The structures of pulse-width and space vector modulation algorithms and ways to improve them are shown. The electromagnetic compatibility of the autonomous inverter with different versions of the modulation algorithm is analyzed.

AlGaAs Semiconductor Quasiphase-Matched Wavelength Converters
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1998Wavelength conversion based on sum frequency generation (SFG) using a semiconductor quasiphase-matched (QPM) waveguide with a periodically crystal domain inverted structure has been studied both theoretically and experimentally. Mathematical expressions with clear physical insight into QPM SFG are derived, taking into account waveguide ...

Semiconducting graphene: converting graphene from semimetal to semiconductor
Nanoscale, 2013Interest in graphene has grown extensively in the last decade or so, because of its extraordinary physical properties, chemical tunability, and potential for various applications. However, graphene is intrinsically a semimetal with a zero bandgap, which considerably impedes its use in many applications where a suitable bandgap is required.

Spot size converter integrated semiconductor optical amplifier
Technical Digest. CLEO/Pacific Rim '99. Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (Cat. No.99TH8464), 1999Spot size converter (SSC)-SOA consists of a slightly tensile bulk 0.2 /spl mu/m thick InGaAsP (/spl lambda/=1.55 /spl mu/m) active layer and 0.1 /spl mu/m thick InGaAsP (/spl lambda/=1.3 /spl mu/m) waveguides, which were grown by selective area growth (SAG) using MOCVD to implement SSC. The total device length is 1500 /spl mu/m.
