Investigation on the partial discharge characteristics of eco‐friendly nanofluid insulation of corn oil nanofluid

open access: yesIET Nanodielectrics, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 130-142, September 2021., 2021
Abstract The suitability of corn oil nanofluid as an insulation material is studied herein by analysing the partial discharge characteristics. Experiments are conducted on nano‐silica modified corn oil at 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 wt.% mass fractions. Electrode configurations are used to generate partial discharge (PD) sources such as corona discharge ...

Near Superhydrophobic Carbon Nanotube Coatings Obtained via Electrophoretic Deposition on Low‐Alloy Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2021., 2021
Herein, a study of hydrophobic carbon nanotube coatings aimed at protecting low‐alloy steels from corrosive environments is conducted. Three different coatings systems are proposed, as well as a novel postprocessing technique. It is concluded that the postprocess is an effective method to transform a hydrophilic coating into a near‐superhydrophobic ...

R-matrices for the semicyclic representations of Uq(2) [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 1992
R-matrices for the semicyclic representations of U_qsl^(2) are found as a limit in the checkerboard chiral Potts model.

On the areas of cyclic and semicyclic polygons

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2005
We investigate the ``generalized Heron polynomial'' that relates the squared area of an n-gon inscribed in a circle to the squares of its side lengths. For a (2m+1)-gon or (2m+2)-gon, we express it as the defining polynomial of a certain variety derived from the variety of binary (2m-1)-forms having m-1 double roots.

The semicycles of solutions of neutral difference equations

open access: yesApplied Mathematics Letters, 2000
The authors study the semicycles of solutions to the neutral delay difference equation \[ \Delta(y_n+ p_ny_{n-\tau}) +q_ny_{n-\sigma} =0. \] Here \(\{p_n\}\) and \(\{q_n\}\) are sequences of nonnegative real numbers, \(\tau\) and \(\sigma\) are positive integers. Upper bounds on the number of terms of semicycles are determined.

Syntheses and Molecular Structures of [(thf)4Li] [{(thf)Li}M(C4H8)3] (M = Zr, Hf) and Their Solution Behavior

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 646, Issue 4, Page 207-214, February 28, 2020., 2020
The reaction of MCl4(thf)2 (M = Zr, Hf) with 1,4‐dilitiobutane in diethyl ether at –25 °C or at 0 °C with a molar ratio of 1 : 3 yields the homoleptic “ate” complexes [(thf)4Li] [{(thf)Li}M(C4H8)3] 1‐Zr (M = Zr) and 1‐Hf (M = Hf). The crystalline compounds form ion lattices with solvent‐separated [(thf)4Li]+ cations and [{(thf)Li}M(C4H8)3]– anions. The

Global Dynamics of Some Exponential Type Systems

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
We explore the boundedness and persistence, existence of an invariant rectangle, local dynamical properties about the unique positive fixed point, global dynamics by the discrete‐time Lyapunov function, and the rate of convergence of some (2,3)‐type exponential systems of difference equations. Finally, theoretical results are numerically verified.

Stability, Neimark–Sacker Bifurcation, and Approximation of the Invariant Curve of Certain Homogeneous Second‐Order Fractional Difference Equation

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
We investigate the local and global character of the unique equilibrium point and boundedness of the solutions of certain homogeneous fractional difference equation with quadratic terms. Also, we consider Neimark–Sacker bifurcations and give the asymptotic approximation of the invariant curve.

Reformation of an oblique shock observed by Cluster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
[1] On 16 March 2005, the Cluster spacecraft crossed a shock almost at the transition between the quasi-perpendicular and quasi-parallel regimes (θ Bn = 46°) preceded by an upstream low-frequency (≈0.02 Hz in the spacecraft frame) wave train observed for
