Future management of arable perennials - an introduction to the project AC/DC-weeds
Creeping perennial weeds have strong negative impacts on arable production. The common control practices are intensive inversion tillage and chemical herbicides. However, these traditional methods negatively affect non-target species and the environment.

The introduction of intermediate tiers in the environmental risk assessment of plant protection products for soil organisms can help to reduce uncertainties in the risk assessment and serve as a bridge between the Tier 1 and higher‐tier risk assessment.

Effect of two NeemAzalTM formulations on honeybees under semi-field conditions
The effects of NeemAzalTM formulations: NeemAzalTM T/S (1% azadirachtin) and NeemAzalTM granules (1% azadirachtin) on honeybees, Apis mellifera L., were studied under semi-field conditions.

Quantifying the impact of Psylliodes chrysocephala injury on the productivity of oilseed rape
The impact of Psylliodes chrysocephala adult and larval damage on oilseed rape yield was quantified to help develop improved thresholds for Integrated Pest Management. Up to 90% leaf area loss (simulated using a hole punch) during early growth did not affect yield.

The BEL-rank of finite semifields [PDF]
In this article we introduce the notion of the BEL-rank of a finite semifield, prove that it is an invariant for the isotopism classes, and give geometric and algebraic interpretations of this new invariant. Moreover, we describe an efficient method for calculating the BEL-rank, and present computational results for all known small semifields.

The quantum group $\dot U$ and flag manifolds over the semifield Z [PDF]
We give a parametrization of the canonical basis of the modified quantum group corresponding to a root datum in terms of the flag manifold over the semifield Z associated to the reductive group corresponding to the dual root datum.

Experimental arena settings might lead to misinterpretation of movement properties
Many studies examine movement in the laboratory and use different laboratory conditions, specifically arenas differing in structure, size, and shape. We examined the effect of the arena structure on movement properties using the red flour beetle as a model. The arena structure greatly affected movement properties, such as movement distance, turn angles,

In the paper under review the author shows a relationship between semifield spreads of \({\text PG}(2 t - 1, q)\) and \(\text{GF}(s)\)-linear sets of rank \(n t\) with \(q = s^n\). For \(t = 2\), the indicator set of a semifield spread of \({\text PG}(3, q)\) defines a Rédei linear blocking set of \({\text PG}(2, q^2)\), disjoint from a Baer subline of

Comparative Efficacy of Insecticides on Bactrocera tryoni and Zeugodacus cucumis (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Laboratory and Semifield Trials in Fruiting Vegetables [PDF]
In-field management of Bactrocera tryoni (Froggatt) and Zeugodacus cucumis (French) (Diptera: Tephritidae) in fruiting vegetable crops has relied almost exclusively on organophosphate cover sprays.

Tropical Solution of Discrete Best Approximation Problems
We consider discrete best approximation problems in the setting of tropical algebra, which is concerned with the theory and application of algebraic systems with idempotent operations. Given a set of input–output pairs of an unknown function defined on a
