An oval partition of the central units of certain semifield planes
Let the translation plane \(\pi\) be coordinatised by the commutative semified \((D,+, \circ)\) of even order \(q^N\) and assume that the middle nucleus of \(D\) is isomorphic to \(GF(q)\). An affine point \(I\) of \(\pi\) not on the coordinate axes is called a central unit if the semifield obtained from \(D\) by recoordinatising \(\pi\) with \(I\) as ...

On some new classes of semifield planes
It was shown by \textit{Y. Hiramine, M. Matsumoto} and \textit{T. Oyama} [Osaka J. Math. 24, 123-137 (1987; Zbl 0646.51006)] that with every translation plane of order \(q^ 2\) whose kernel contains \(GF(q)\) one can associate a translation plane of order \(q^ 4\) whose kernel contains \(GF(q^ 2)\). The authors investigate the semifield planes obtained
