Boundary controllability of impulsive nonlinear fractional delay integro-differential system

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2016
By using the strongly continuous semigroup theory and the Banach contraction principle, we study the boundary controllability of time varying delay impulsive nonlinear fractional integrodifferential system in Banach spaces.

Stability of Blaschke products under forward iteration

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Forward iteration of holomorphic self‐maps generalizes the iteration of a single function in a natural way. This framework arises in complex dynamics, for instance, in the study of wandering domains and in seeking suitable extensions of the Denjoy–Wolff theorem. Here, we consider forward iteration of Blaschke products.

Properties of the subsemigroups of the bicyclic monoid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper we study some properties of the subsemigroups of the bicyclic monoid B, by using a recent description of its subsemigroups. We start by giving necessary and sufficient conditions for a subsemigroup to be finitely generated.

Ordered Semigroups Based on ∈,∈∨qkδ-Fuzzy Ideals

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, 2018
A new trend of using fuzzy algebraic structures in various applied sciences is becoming a central focus due to the accuracy and nondecoding nature. The aim of the present paper is to develop a new type of fuzzy subsystem of an ordered semigroup S.

Algebraic singular functions are not always dense in the ideal of C∗$C^*$‐singular functions

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We give the first examples of étale (non‐Hausdorff) groupoids G$\mathcal {G}$ whose C∗$C^*$‐algebras contain singular elements that cannot be approximated by singular elements in Cc(G)$\mathcal {C}_c(\mathcal {G})$. We provide two examples: one is a bundle of groups and the other a minimal and effective groupoid constructed from a self‐similar

Unary FA-presentable semigroups

open access: yes, 2012
Automatic presentations, also called FA-presentations, were introduced to extend nite model theory to innite structures whilst retaining the solubility of interesting decision problems.

A spectral mapping theorem for evolution semigroups on asymptotically almost periodic functions defined on the half line

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2002
We prove that the evolution semigroup on $AAP_0(mathbb{R}_+, X)$ is strongly continuous. Then we prove some properties of the generator of this evolution semigroup and show some applications in the theory of inequalities.

Existence of viscosity solutions to abstract Cauchy problems via nonlinear semigroups

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract In this work, we provide conditions for nonlinear monotone semigroups on locally convex vector lattices to give rise to a generalized notion of viscosity solutions to a related nonlinear partial differential equation. The semigroup needs to satisfy a convexity estimate, so called K$K$‐convexity, with respect to another family of operators ...

Semigroup presentations

open access: yes, 2012
In this thesis we consider in detail the following two fundamental problems for semigroup presentations: 1. Given a semigroup find a presentation defining it. 2. Given a presentation describe the semigroup defined by it.

Green index and finiteness conditions for semigroups

open access: yes, 2008
Let S be a semigroup and let T be a subsemigroup of S. Then T acts on S by left and by right multiplication. If the complement S \ T has finitely many strong orbits by both these actions we say that T has finite Green index in S.
