Zinner’s syndrome, radiological diagnosis for a rare syndrome with non-specific clinical presentation: case report

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2020
Background Zinner’s syndrome is a rare congenital malformation involving the seminal vesicle that mostly shows cystic transformation. Embryogenesis of the kidney, ureter, seminal vesicle, and vas deferens can be altered if an insult occurs during the ...

Monitoring extracellular vesicle surface glyco-properties using fluorescent lectins and nanoparticle tracking analysis

open access: yesOpen Biology
Extracellular vesicles are small particles released by all cell types. Different extracellular vesicle isolation methods are widely used, yet none achieve an optimal balance between yield, purity and structural integrity.

Cystadenoma of seminal vesicle

open access: yesAnnals of Medical Science and Research, 2023
Benign cystadenomas are the rarest tumors of the seminal vesicles (SVs). Only 22 cases of cystadenoma of the SVs have been noted till now. Clinical findings and imaging studies are nonspecific so the diagnosis is made on the final pathology.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Immunohistochemical localization of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A in the male genital tract [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) has been found in seminal fluid at concentrations 10-20 times higher than in plasma. This observation prompted us to undertake a morphological study of the male genital tract with the aid of the ...
