Tropical semirings

open access: yes, 1998
This article has been published in the proceedings of the "Idempotency" conference, organized by Jeremy Gunawardena in Bristol in october 1994. The aim of this paper is to present the tropical semirings and to survey a few problems relevant to them.

Mechanical Response and Control Measures of Pile Foundations under Close‐Range Shield Tunneling in Water‐Rich Sandy Pebble Strata

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
By relying on the foundation engineering of pile foundations for the Chengdu Metro Line 27 shield tunneling through interchange bridges, three‐dimensional numerical simulation results are used to verify field measurements. This study investigates the horizontal displacement, vertical displacement, and stress characteristics of the pile foundation ...

Ordered Left Almost ⋇‐Semihypergroups Based on Fuzzy Sets

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The concept of an involution or anti‐involution is a self‐inverse linear mapping that plays a prominent role in the theory of algebraic structures, particularly rings, hyperrings, ordered semigroups, and ordered semihypergroups. Nowadays, the study of involutions in ordered hyperstructures is a particular area of research in the field of hyperstructure

Left Zeroid and Right Zeroid Elements of Γ-Semirings

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2017
In this paper we introduce the notion of a left zeroid and a right zeroid of Γ -semirings. We prove that, a left zeroid of a simple Γ-semiring M is regular if and only if M is a regular Γ -semiring.

A 28‐GHz Vivaldi Array Antenna With Power Divider Structure for Achieving Wide Band and Gain Enhancement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
This article presents a planar Vivaldi array antenna based on a power divider structure. A half‐loop defected ground structure (DGS) is performed to decrease the mutual coupling between antennas in the bottom layer of the substrate. The proposed Vivaldi antenna has a 1 × 8 power divided microstrip line structure and performs well in antenna gain and ...

Completely Archimedean semirings

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2018
In this paper we give a structural description of completely Archimedean semirings which is an extension of the structure theorem of completely Archimedean semigroups.

Diameters of commuting graphs of matrices over semirings

open access: yes, 2010
We calculate the diameters of commuting graphs of matrices over the binary Boolean semiring, the tropical semiring and an arbitrary nonentire commutative semiring.

Simple Polynomial Reissner–Mindlin Shell Model and Its Application in Efficient Analysis of Complex Underground Structures

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The isogeometric (IG) Reissner–Mindlin (R–M) shell model solves the problem of shear and membrane locking that besets the finite element (FE) R–M shell model of nonthick underground structures, but still faces complicated modeling and computation, especially for the multijoint structures.

Semigroup of k-bi-Ideals of a Semiring with Semilattice Additive Reduct

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2016
We associate a semigroup B(S) to every semiring S with semilattice additive reduct, namely the semigroup of all k-bi-ideals of S; and such semirings S have been characterized by this associated semigroup B(S). A semiring S is k-regular if and only if B(S)

Gyroscopic Torques Generated by a Spinning Ring Torus

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
The known publications related to the gyroscope theory consider only several geometries of the spinning rotors, like the disc, bars, rings, spheres, and others. The geometries of the spinning objects in engineering can have many designs that generate different values of inertial torques. A computing of inertial torques produced by the object’s rotating
