From Words to Wood: Text‐to‐Procedurally Generated Wood Materials
Abstract In the domain of wood modeling, we present a new complex appearance model, coupled with a user‐friendly NLP‐based frontend for intuitive interactivity. First, we present a procedurally generated wood model that is capable of accurately simulating intricate wood characteristics, including growth rings, vessels/pores, rays, knots, and figure ...

Algebraic structures of tropical mathematics
Tropical mathematics often is defined over an ordered cancellative monoid $\tM$, usually taken to be $(\RR, +)$ or $(\QQ, +)$. Although a rich theory has arisen from this viewpoint, cf.

New building blocks for F1${\mathbb {F}}_1$‐geometry: Bands and band schemes
Abstract We develop and study a generalization of commutative rings called bands, along with the corresponding geometric theory of band schemes. Bands generalize both hyperrings, in the sense of Krasner, and partial fields in the sense of Semple and Whittle.

Summary Schmets [22] has developed a measure theory from a generalized notion of a semiring of sets. Goguadze [15] has introduced another generalized notion of semiring of sets and proved that all known properties that semiring have according to the old definitions are preserved. We show that this two notions are almost equivalent.

The main scope of this paper is to introduce the valuation semirings in general and discrete valuation semirings in particular. In order to do that, first, we define valuation maps and investigate them. Then we define valuation semirings with the help of valuation maps and prove that a multiplicatively cancellative semiring is a valuation semiring if ...

Integrating amyloid imaging and genetics for early risk stratification of Alzheimer's disease
Abstract INTRODUCTION Alzheimer's disease (AD) initiates years prior to symptoms, underscoring the importance of early detection. While amyloid accumulation starts early, individuals with substantial amyloid burden may remain cognitively normal, implying that amyloid alone is not sufficient for early risk assessment.

Abstract Forests are critical to water resources, but high evapotranspiration (ET) can reduce water yield. Thinning and prescribed fire reduce forest density and often reduce ET, promoting higher water yield. However, results from such treatments have been inconsistent, possibly because of unknown interactions among individual ET components. We compare

Universal quadratic forms and Northcott property of infinite number fields
Abstract We show that if a universal quadratic form exists over an infinite degree, totally real extension of the field of rationals Q$\mathbb {Q}$, then the set of totally positive integers in the extension does not have the Northcott property. In particular, this implies that no universal form exists over the compositum of all totally real Galois ...

Exact Sequences of Semimodules over Semirings [PDF]
In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new notion of exact sequences of semimodules over semirings relative to the canonical image factorization.

Summary The Mediterranean alpine is one of the most vulnerable ecosystems under future environmental change. Yet, patterns, timing and environmental controls of plant growth are poorly investigated. We aimed at an improved understanding of growth processes, as well as stem swelling and shrinking patterns, by examining two common coexisting green ...
