Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

Adapting PILOTE model for water and yield management under direct seeding system: The case of corn and durum wheat in a Mediterranean context [PDF]

open access: yes
Crop models are useful tools for integrating knowledge of biophysical processes governing the plant-soil-atmosphere system. But few of them are easily usable for water and yield management especially under specific cropping systems such as direct seeding.

Hypersubtraction and semi-direct product

open access: yes
In this article, we introduce an extrinsic approach to the notion of semi-direct product, an intrinsic one (namely inside the category Gp of group itself) having been already done elsewhere. This will led us to focus our attention on two algebraic structures (hypersubtraction and hyper-Slominski settings) which will allow us to characterize this ...

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

THE p-COCKCROFT PROPERTY OF THE SEMI-DIRECT PRODUCTS OF MONOIDS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Algebra and Computation, 2003
The semi-direct product of arbitrary two monoids and a presentation for this product have received considerable attention, see for instance [12, 14, 15]. In [15], Wang defined a trivializer set of the Squier complex associated with this presentation.
