Hypothesis Testing for Functional Linear Models via Bootstrapping [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Hypothesis testing for the slope function in functional linear regression is of both practical and theoretical interest. We develop a novel test for the nullity of the slope function, where testing the slope function is transformed into testing a high-dimensional vector based on functional principal component analysis.

Spatiotemporal variability and trend of rainfall and temperature in Sidama Regional State, Ethiopia

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Climatology, 2023
This study aims to investigate spatiotemporal variability, trends, and anomaly in rainfall and temperature in the Sidama region, Ethiopia. The TerraClimate gridded dataset on a monthly time scale for 30 years (1991–2020) with a horizontal resolution of ...

Validating Approximate Slope Homogeneity in Large Panels [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Statistical inference for large data panels is omnipresent in modern economic applications. An important benefit of panel analysis is the possibility to reduce noise and thus to guarantee stable inference by intersectional pooling. However, it is wellknown that pooling can lead to a biased analysis if individual heterogeneity is too strong.

Long-Term Trends and Seasonality Detection of the Observed Flow in Yangtze River Using Mann-Kendall and Sen’s Innovative Trend Method

open access: yesWater, 2019
Trend analysis of streamflow provides practical information for better management of water resources on the eve of climate change. Thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate the presence of possible trends in the annual, seasonal, maximum, and ...

MANN-KENDALL TEST: TREND ANALYSIS OF TEMPERATURE, RAINFALL AND DISCHARGE OF GHOTKI FEEDER CANAL IN DISTRICT GHOTKI, SINDH, PAKISTAN

open access: yesEnvironment & Ecosystem Science, 2021
Temperature and precipitation variations have huge environmental, socio-economic impacts. This study aims to detect the trend of temperature, precipitation, and discharge from 2000-2020 in the district Ghotki.

Trend analysis of hydro-climate variables in the Jemma sub-basin of Upper Blue Nile (Abbay) Basin, Ethiopia

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2023
The change in climate elements such as rainfall and temperature are determinant factors of hydrological components (e.g., streamflow, water yield, evapotranspiration).

Derivative Dispersion Relations for the Amplitude Slopes in pp and p-pbar Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesInt.J.Mod.Phys.E16:2893-2897,2007, 2007
We extend the use of derivative dispersion relations to the study of slopes of the real and imaginary amplitudes in pp and p-pbar elastic scattering. The new relations are tested against the solutions for the amplitudes obtained in the analysis of the high energy data. Extensions beyond the forward direction are investigated.

Assessment of Spatial and Temporal Variability of Rainfall Data Using Kriging, Mann Kendall Test and the Sen's Slope Estimates in Jordan from 1980 to 2007

open access: yes, 2013
This study aims to examine the spatial and temporal variability of the mean annual rain in Jordan during a 28-year period (1980-2007). The used meteorological datasets are the monthly rainfall amounts (mm) and the annual rainfall recorded at twenty five ...

Spatio-temporal patterns and trends of the air pollution integrating MERRA-2 and in situ air quality data over Egypt (2013–2021)

open access: yesAir quality, atmosphere and health, 2023
For best-informed decision-making to improve climate change adaptation and reduce present and future air pollution health hazards, it is essential to identify major trends in spatiotemporal air quality patterns of common air contaminants.

Evaluation of Ecological Quality Status and Changing Trend in Arid Land Based on the Remote Sensing Ecological Index: A Case Study in Xinjiang, China

open access: yesForests, 2023
Ecosystems in arid areas are under pressure from human activities and the natural environment. Long-term monitoring and evaluation of arid ecosystems are essential for achieving the goal of sustainable development.
