Turanecio Hamzaoglu, a new genus of the Asteraceae, is described. Ten species are included, previously referred to Senecio L., Cineraria L., or Iranecio B.Nord. This genus belongs to the "Quadridentate Group" of the subtribe Senecioninae, because of the 4-lobed disc florets.
