Systemic Expression of Genes Involved in the Plant Defense Response Induced by Wounding in Senna tora

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2021
Wounds in tissues provide a pathway of entry for pathogenic fungi and bacteria in plants. Plants respond to wounding by regulating the expression of genes involved in their defense mechanisms. To analyze this response, we investigated the defense-related genes induced by wounding in the leaves of Senna tora using RNA sequencing.

Assessing the Usefulness of Senna Obtusifolia, an Invasive Plant Species in West Africa Rangelands

XXV International Grassland Congress (IGC 2023), 2023
Senna obtusifolia is a less appreciated plant species. Its invasion has led to the disappearance of several herbaceous species of interest in West Africa rangelands. As adaptation strategy, people use it to substitute for those that have disappeared. This study aimed to assess the importance of this species for animal and local ethnic groups according ...

Senna plant generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) and induces apoptosis in Hymenolepis diminuta

Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology, 2020
Like mammalian cells, helminth parasites are equipped with an array of enzymatic anti-oxidant system which has an adaptive strategy to cope up with several conditions of stress that arise from host immune response or drug treatment. Earlier, we had reported that three species of Senna, viz. S. alata, S. alexandrina and S.
