Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Experiments in binaural audio for telepresence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
One area of telepresence research that has had less, though increasing, analysis is that pertaining to the audio aspects of presence, particularly with regard to the remote detection of real world sounds. If telepresence can be considered as the physical

Supraspinal characterization of the thermal grill illusion with fMRI. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BackgroundSimultaneous presentation of non-noxious warm (40°C) and cold (20°C) stimuli in an interlacing fashion results in a transient hot burning noxious sensation (matched at 46°C) known as the thermal grill (TG) illusion.

Sensing, listening, understanding - Shared decision making as mutual interaction

open access: yesFysioterapeuten, 2023
Shared decision making is important to strengthen care for the individual patient, but requires that the problems can be identified, and that knowledge of good treatment exists. Communication skills are essential. Physiotherapy often unfolds in immediate

Telextiles: End-to-end Remote Transmission of Fabric Tactile Sensation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 36th Annual ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology (2023)
The tactile sensation of textiles is critical in determining the comfort of clothing. For remote use, such as online shopping, users cannot physically touch the textile of clothes, making it difficult to evaluate its tactile sensation. Tactile sensing and actuation devices are required to transmit the tactile sensation of textiles.

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

ReaWristic: Remote Touch Sensation to Fingers from a Wristband via Visually Augmented Electro-Tactile Feedback [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (2024)
We present a technique for providing remote tactile feedback to the thumb and index finger via a wristband device. This enables haptics for touch and pinch interactions in mixed reality (MR) while keeping the hand entirely free. We achieve this through a novel cross-modal stimulation, which we term visually augmented electro-tactile feedback.

Sensation and Perception [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1870
HAVING in the Journal of Mental Science tried to show how Sensation and Intellect are distinguished from each other, allow me to state, in regard to Dr. Bastian's views on this head, that Dr. Lockhart Clarke, after a careful review of what has been written on Sensation, rejects Sir W.

KRAS and GNAS mutations in cell‐free DNA and in circulating epithelial cells in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms—an observational pilot study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...
