Modeling ion sensing in molecular electronics

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2014
We examine the ability of molecules to sense ions by measuring the change in molecular conductance in the presence of such charged species. The detection of protons (H+), alkali metal cations (M+), calcium ions (Ca2+), and hydronium ions (H3O+) is considered.

Environmental Electronic Sensing Systems

2021
Although environmental measurement instrumentation has been utilized by human civilizations for thousands of years, the use of electronics to conduct measurements closely parallels the development of electrical theory from the 19th century to the present.

Electronic odour sensing systems

Electronics & Communication Engineering Journal, 1993
An odour sensing instrument has been developed and used to classify many different materials, including beers, spirits and alcohols. The next stage in development is to begin to relate subjective odour descriptors (e.g. fruity, minty) to quantitative sensor array measurements.

Electronic Sensing of Tastes

Electroanalysis, 1998
The taste sensor showed a similar pattern for chemical substances producing the same taste qualities, while quite different patterns were obtained for substances with different taste qualities. In fact, similar outputs were obtained for, e.g., NaCl, KCl and KBr eliciting saltiness, whereas their patterns differed clearly from those for other basic ...

3D Integrated Physicochemical‐Sensing Electronic Skin

Small
Abstract The integration of physical and chemical signal sensing is of great significance to bridge the gap between electronic skin (e‐skin) and natural skin. However, the existing method of integrating physical and chemical signal sensing units in two dimensions is not conducive to the development of e‐skin in ...
