Electronic nose for gas sensing applications

2014 Conference on Optoelectronic and Microelectronic Materials & Devices, 2014
Tin oxide (SnO 2 ), Zinc Oxide (ZnO) and their composites were used to fabricate gas sensors (electronic nose) for sensing methanol, ethanol and other hydrocarbons. The sensitivity behavior of the electronic nose was studied in detail and a power model has been developed.

Sensing Electrons on the Edge

Science, 2003
Plutonium is notorious for its radioactive properties, but in his Perspective, [Lander][1] draws attention to another property of this element: its unusual electronic properties that have long defied explanation. A recent theoretical study has overcome the problems associated with simulating the electron correlations in solid plutonium.

Thermal contact-sensing electronic thermometer.

Biomedical instrumentation & technology, 1991
The design and evaluation of a neonatal skin surface temperature-monitoring instrument that indicates when the temperature sensor becomes loose is presented. The skin surface temperature is sensed using a standard clinical thermistor probe. Thermal contact with the skin is evaluated every 4.5 min by determining the heat dissipation properties of the ...

Standoff Sensing of Electronic Systems

2011
Abstract : We consider the problem of multi-task reinforcement learning (MTRL) in multiple partially observable stochastic environments. This model is appropriate for the statistical analysis of electronic systems via standoff sensing. The electronic circuit is partially observable.
