Sensible Heat Storage for Power Generation
2013 International Conference on IT Convergence and Security (ICITCS), 2013The world is seeing a changing trend from conventional power generation sources to most reliable and predominant solar system generation which is going wild commercially. This paper attempts a heat energy storage for power generation in which a Molten Salt is proposed for Thermal Energy Storage for Concentrating Solar Power systems.

Total Site Heat Integration incorporating the water sensible heat
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2014Analysis of steam and water losses in the Total Site (TS) utility system is critical in process industry. Makeup water plays an important role in maintaining the water balance in the steam and condensate systems. Total Site Heat Integration (TSHI) offers a solution to increase energy savings as well as energy efficiency and consequently, to promote ...

Latent and sensible heat transfer in air‐cooling applications
International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 2007PurposeJoint descriptions of both heat and mass transfer and thermodynamic aspects of air‐cooling applications cannot be easily found in the literature. Numerical analyses are a notable exception since suitable physical models and realistic boundary conditions are a prerequisite of accurate simulations.

A Novel Sensible Heat Pump Scheme for Industrial Heat Recovery
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2016Most industrial heat pumps are based on the reversed Rankine cycle. According to Pinch Analysis, heat pumps should be placed across pinch. A “sharp” pinch with corresponding low temperature lift is required in order to achieve good performance. In addition, as will be demonstrated in this paper, the compression and expansion are not properly placed in ...

High Temperature Sensible Heat Storage
1987Alkali-metal carbonate salts meet many of the working fluid and storage medium requirements for high temperature, 900°C, solar central receiver systems. But, because of their corrosiveness, they present special problems in the design of storage tanks. These problems are discussed and solutions are proposed. For example, in order to reduce corrosion and

Heat-Transfer Coefficients in Agitated Vessels. Sensible Heat Models
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1995Transient models for sensible heat were developed to assess the thermal performance of agitated vessels with coils and jackets. Performance is quantified with the computation of heat-transfer coefficients by introducing vessel heating and cooling data into model equations. Of the two model categories studied, differential and macroscopic, the latter is

Sensible Heat Storage for Medium and High Temperatures
2008Storage systems using sensible heat storage have been developed for operation temperatures up to 400°C. These systems are intended for integration into solarthermal power plants demanding storage capacities in the MWh-range. Research has been focused on the development of cost effective storage systems using concrete with embedded heat exchangers ...

Particulate fouling of sensible heat exchangers
2011Fouling by a petroleum gas oil and a dilute suspension of sand in water was studied as a function of mass flow rate and wall temperature. The experiments were carried out by circulating the liquid through a single tube maintained at constant heat flux by electrical heating. The change in fouling resistance and pressure drop with time was measured.

Simulation of Heat Transfer Characteristics of Sensible Heat Storage System
Invertis Journal of Science & Technology, 2020The aim of present work includes development of a numerical model for the prediction of heat transfer characteristics of a sensible heat storage system (SHSS) followed by the validation using a small scale experiment. The concrete structures with entrenched steel pipe with definite maximum energy storage capacity was considered for the modelling and in

Sensible Heat Loss after Systemic Anticholinergic Treatment
1994Systemic atropine administration decreases eccrine sweat gland release via competitive inhibition at cholinergic receptors and augments skin blood flow by a yet unknown mechanism. Increased skin blood flow promotes auxiliary radiative and convective heat flux by 20–100% in both warm and cold environments.
