Scaling in Sensitivity Analysis

Ecology, 2002
Population matrix models allow sets of demographic parameters to be summarized by a single value λ, the finite rate of population increase. The consequences of change in individual demographic parameters are naturally measured by the corresponding changes in λ; sensitivity analyses compare demographic parameters on the basis of these changes.

Sensitivity analysis of performability

Performance Evaluation, 1992
Summary: An analytical expression is provided to evaluate the sensitivity (i.e. the derivative with respect to a system parameter) of the cumulative reward distribution for systems modeled by homogeneous Markov reward processes. Both transition rates and reward rates are assumed to be function of the system parameter.

Global Sensitivity Analysis

Operations Research, 1995
In applications of operations research models, decision makers must assess the sensitivity of outputs to imprecise values for some of the model's parameters. Existing analytic approaches for classic optimization models rely heavily on duality properties for assessing the impact of local parameter variations, parametric programming for examining ...

Sensitivity Analysis in DEA [PDF]

open access: possible, 2005
This chapter presents some of the recently developed analytical methods for studying the sensitivity of DEA results to variations in the data. The focus is on the stability of classification of DMUs (decision making units) into efficient and inefficient performers.

Sensitivity analysis in economics

Computers & Operations Research, 1984
The paper studies the local dependence on a parameter of a unique solution to a general inequality-equality constrained nonlinear programming problem. A theorem due to \textit{A. V. Fiacco} [Math. Program. 10, 287-311 (1976; Zbl 0357.90064)] is extended to deal with the case where the objective and constraint functions are definded only over the ...

Sensitivity Analysis with BEM [PDF]

open access: possible, 1992
Shape optimization with the Boundary Element Method, see [01,02,04,08,09] has great advantages compared to the Finite Element Method based shape optimization. For linear problems, we have to discretize only the surface of the body. This means that the dimension of the problem is reduced by one and a re-zoning process for the internal nodal points is ...

No inconsistencies in sensitivity analysis

Trends in Ecology & Evolution, 2000
We thank Joel Cohen, Jim Cushing and Roger A. Horn for helpful comments. Space limitations do not permit it, but if they did, the following would be co-authors to this letter: Solange Brault, Jean-Dominique Lebreton, Michael Neubert, Richard Sibly, Takenori Takada and Shripad Tuljapurkar.
