Sensor Data Fusion

2006
The main contribution of this paper is to present a sensor fusion approach to scene environment mapping as part of a Sensor Data Fusion (SDF) architecture. This approach involves combined sonar array with stereo vision readings.  Sonar readings are interpreted using probability density functions to the occupied and empty regions.

Sensor fusion and data fusion – Mapping and reconstruction

Measurement, 2007
Data mining is a term frequently used in sociological, economical and military fields. But since many of these data stem from the technological field of sensors and sensor nets, it is worth investigating if the ideas, tasks, and tools of data mining can be integrated in a common framework of metrology.

Sensor data fusion in a simulated sensor environment

2005 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2005
This paper addresses the development of automatic target recognition (ATR) algorithms that have the potential to fuse information from multiple sensors to improve acquisition, tracking, and discrimination of threat objects in a simulated sensor environment.

Data fusion by optimal sensor switching

Proceeding of 1st Australian Data Fusion Symposium, 2002
In this paper we consider the problem of selecting the optimal measurement sequence from two or more sensors given communication bandwidth limitations. In particular the constraints are such that only one sensor may be used at any one time. Our aim is to switch these sensors to obtain optimal (mean square error sense) estimates of the state of a linear

Environmental monitoring using sensor data fusion

2012 International Conference on Radar, Communication and Computing (ICRCC), 2012
This paper deals with the implementation of data fusion technique viz. Kalman Filter in the estimation of a precise value for a set of data taken from sensors measuring various environmental aspects such as temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. Current research work going in this field is also discussed in brief, as well as their limitations.

Sensors data fusion via Bayesian filter

Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010
Presented paper deals with the data fusion of measured environment attributes obtained from different kinds of sensors used by autonomous mobile robot. The method is based on algorithm called Bayesian filter. Implementation details and simulation experiment that fuses three different sensors measurement to determine robot orientation are given in the ...

Multi-Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF)

2017
The Data Fusion Model maintained by the JDL (Joint Directors of Laboratories) Data Fusion Group is the most widely-used method for categorizing data fusion-related functions. This paper discusses the current effort to revise and expand this model to facilitate the cost-effective development, acquisition, integration and operation of multi-sensor/multi ...

Data Fusion in Wireless Sensor Networks

2012
Many strategies have been devised over the years for improving performance of wireless sensor networks with special consideration to energy efficiency, accuracy of the sensed data, increasing network lifetime, providing QoS, et cetera. Such techniques include design of various MAC protocols, routing algorithms, aggregation techniques, and many more ...

Data fusion in decentralized sensor networks

Control Engineering Practice, 1994
Abstract This paper addresses the problem of data fusion in decentralized sensor networks in which there is no central fusion center and in which no single sensor node has global knowledge of network topology. An algorithm is described which is able to locally process and assimilate data in such networks and which yields an identical result to that ...
