In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Classification and Prediction for Accurate Sensor-Based Assembly to Moving Objects
Typical industrial assembly tasks require an accuracy that cannot be realized by only feedback control if a minimum speed is given by a conveyor. Feed-forward has proven to be advantageous, using predictions of the desired trajectory which will be ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Effect of Roughness on Shear Characteristics of the Interface between Silty Clay and Concrete
In order to study the effect of roughness on the mechanical parameters of silty clay-concrete interface, and to explore the applicability of silicon piezoresistive sensor to test the interface pressure, a large-scale direct shear test system was used to ...

Sensor systems: a hierarchical approach [PDF]
The concept of a reference model has been well known in the communications industry for many years. This has provided clearly defined layers and interface standards which allow different organisations and across the industry to develop products ...

A programmable microsystem using system-on-chip for real-time biotelemetry [PDF]
A telemetry microsystem, including multiple sensors, integrated instrumentation and a wireless interface has been implemented. We have employed a methodology akin to that for System-on-Chip microelectronics to design an integrated circuit instrument ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
