Twist-Related Speckle Variation in Graded-Index Multimode Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
We theoretically investigate a twist-related speckle variation in a graded-index multimode fiber. The simulation results show that by increasing the offset splicing distance between a single-mode fiber and a multimode fiber, the speckle pattern tends to ...

Query management in a sensor environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Traditional sensor network deployments consisted of fixed infrastructures and were relatively small in size. More and more, we see the deployment of ad-hoc sensor networks with heterogeneous devices on a larger scale, posing new challenges for device ...

Twist Sensor Based on Long Period Grating and Tilted Bragg Grating Written in Few-Mode Fibers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
A twist sensor based on a few-mode long period grating (LPG) and a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) is proposed and demonstrated. The LPG, inscribed in a step index few-mode fiber by a CO2 laser, is utilized to excite the LP11 core mode.

A Novel Dynamic Spectrum-Sharing Method for GEO and LEO Satellite Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this article, we investigate the spectrum-sharing for a space information network comprised of a geostationary orbit (GEO) satellite and a pair of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites, where one spectrum-sensing LEO (SLEO) is used to sense the status of ...

Demo Abstract: Augmenting Reality with IP-based Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate low-power IP-based sensor networks by showing a system that interacts with the sensor network using a RESTful web service interface. The sensor data is displayed with overlaid 3D graphics on top of a live camera feed, so-called augmented ...

Worst-Case Routing Performance Evaluation of Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Successful sensor network applications depends heavily on the ability of these networks to reliably and reasonably perform under the worst-case scenarios, extreme and unusual events for which many such networks are designed to detect.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...
