Blood RNA Biomarker Signatures for Early Diagnosis and Prognosis in Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Stroke: The IBIS‐CT1 Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the expression of nine blood RNA biomarkers in a clinical trial based on genes previously identified in an experimental monkey model of stroke for diagnosis feasibility and prognostication. Methods IBIS‐CT1 was a prospective longitudinal study enrolling patients with ischemic stroke (IS) or intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH ...

Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.

Continuous Sensor Placement

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2015
Existing solutions to the sensor placement problem are based on sensor selection, in which the best subset of available sampling locations is chosen such that a desired estimation accuracy is achieved. However, the achievable estimation accuracy of sensor placement via sensor selection is limited to the initial set of sampling locations, which are ...

Sensor placement for RSSD-based localization: Optimal angular placement and sequential sensor placement

Physical Communication, 2020
Abstract Energy-based localization has received great interest due to its low cost and simple implementation. It is well-known that sensor placement around the source plays a significant role in localization performance. This paper considers source localization based on the received signal strength difference (RSSD).

Sensor placement in heterogeneous sensor networks

2012 12th International Conference on Control Automation Robotics & Vision (ICARCV), 2012
Source localization is an important application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Many types of sensors can be used for source localization, e.g. range-only sensors, bearing-only sensors and time-of-arrival (TOA) sensors, etc. It is well known that the relative sensor-source geometry can significantly affect the performance of any particular ...

Sensor Placement for Fault Diagnosis

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part A: Systems and Humans, 2008
An algorithm is developed for computing which sensors to add to meet a diagnosis requirement specification concerning fault detectability and fault isolability. The method is based only on the structural information in a model, which means that possibly large and nonlinear differential-algebraic models can be handled in an efficient manner.

Sensor placement optimization in buildings

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
In this work we address the problem of optimal sensor placement for a given region and task. An important issue in designing sensor arrays is the appropriate placement of the sensors such that they achieve a predefined goal. There are many problems that could be considered in the placement of multiple sensors.
