The sensorimotor slice

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2007
The reciprocal connections between primary motor cortex (M1) and primary somatosensory cortex (S1) are hypothesized to play a role in an animal's ability to update its motor plan in response to changes in the sensory periphery. These interactions provide the sensory cortex with anticipatory knowledge of motor plans.

Sensorimotor testing in children

2011 IEEE World Haptics Conference, 2011
This preliminary study investigated behaviorally the performance of a sample of young twins in a set of classical visuomotor tasks. The assessment was carried out using a small haptic interface used to produce force and record the hand trajectory during the execution of tasks requiring rapid and precise movements.

Sensorimotor control of the spine

Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, 2002
The spinal viscoelastic structures including disk, capsule and ligaments were reviewed with special focus on their sensory motor functions. Afferent capable of monitoring proprioceptive and kinesthetic information are abundant in the disc, capsule and ligament.

fMRI of the Sensorimotor System

2016
The extensive application of fMRI to the assessment of the human sensorimotor system has disclosed a complexity that is largely beyond our original understanding. From the available data, it is accepted that this system consists of a large, and somewhat yet unknown, number of cortical and subcortical areas, with a precise location and a specialized ...

The formation of sensorimotor circuits

Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 2002
Recent studies have identified some of the key molecular pathways that control the genesis of spinal sensorimotor circuits. Transcription factors play a central role in these events, regulating both the specification of neurons that constitute these sensorimotor pathways and the expression of downstream molecules that control the wiring up of these ...

Sensorimotor Myeloradiculoneuropathy in Thymoma

American Journal of Clinical Oncology, 1991
This is the first report describing the clinical, electrophysiological, and neuropathological findings in a patient with thymoma and sensorimotor myeloradiculoneuropathy. Degeneration of the Clarke's nucleus and posterior horns were noted in addition to segmental demyelination and variable axonal loss of the anterior and posterior roots.
