This paper proposes a hybrid sensorless control strategy for a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG)‐based wind energy conversion system (WECS). The approach integrates finite‐set predictive current control (FS‐PCC), a model reference adaptive system (MRAS) estimator and an optimal torque control maximum power point tracking (MPPT‐OTC) method ...

Cost-Effective Predictive Flux Control for a Sensorless Doubly Fed Induction Generator
The paper introduces a cost effective predictive flux control (PFC) approach for a sensorless doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The base operation of the proposed PFC depends on controlling the rotor flux (α-β) components using a cost ...

Sensorless stabilization of bounce juggling [PDF]
The paper studies the properties of a sinusoidally vibrating wedge billiard as a model for 2-D bounce juggling. It is shown that some periodic orbits that are unstable in the elastic fixed wedge become exponentially stable in the nonelastic vibrating wedge.

This paper investigates the application of Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS‐MPC) for Brushless DC (BLDC) motor speed regulation under dynamic references, including sinusoidal, square, triangular, and sawtooth signals. A novel cost function is introduced to evaluate switching frequency effects, and the influence of different weighting ...

Sensorless MPPT Algorithms for PV Systems in Partially Shaded Scenarios
This manuscript presents current sensorless algorithms for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in partially shaded photovoltaic (PV) systems. The necessity of a current sensor is eliminated with the use of mathematical modeling of the power electronics ...

Self-Commissioning of Inverter Nonlinear Effects in AC Drives [PDF]
The paper presents a novel technique for an accurate identification of the inverter nonlinear effects, such as the dead-time and on-state voltage drops. The proposed technique is very simple and it is based only on a current control scheme.

Observer-based Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Mechanical Transmission Systems with Sensorless Variable Speed Drives [PDF]
Observer based approaches are commonly embedded in sensorless variable speed drives for the purpose of speed control. It estimates system variables to produce errors or residual signals in conjunction with corresponding measurements. The residual signals
