Quantifying the resolution of spatial and temporal representation in children with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
ObjectivesOur ability to generate mental representation of magnitude from sensory information affects how we perceive and experience the world. Reduced resolution of the mental representations formed from sensory inputs may generate impairment in the ...

The psychophysics of absolute threshold and signal duration: A probabilistic approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The absolute threshold for a tone depends on its duration; longer tones have lower thresholds. This effect has traditionally been explained in terms of ?temporal integration? involving the summation of energy or perceptual information over time.

Sensory Impairment Among Older US Workers

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Public Health, 2009
We used 1997–2004 National Health Interview Survey data to evaluate the prevalence of sensory impairment among US workers 65 years and older. Hearing impairment prevalence was 3 times that of visual impairment (33.4% vs 10.2%), and 38% of older workers reported experiencing either impairment.
