In their narratives: academic socialization in the experience of sensory processing sensitivity among university students

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionWhile much of the worldwide contemporary research on sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) and environmental sensitivity (ES) has relied on the participation of university students, there remains a significant gap in understanding the academic

Modelling Suicide‐Related Communication Dynamics: A Socio‐Cybernetic Framework for Governance

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Suicide‐related phenomena (SPS) are often approached through individual‐level risk factors or moral framings, yet their population‐level dynamics depend critically on how ‘suicide’ becomes observable, circulates and is governed across functionally differentiated systems.

Updating unanswered questions for stillbirth research: refresh of the UK Stillbirth Priority Setting Partnership

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Despite UK targets to reduce stillbirth, there has been comparatively less research focused on stillbirth than on other pregnancy complications. This study aimed to ensure that future research addresses the most important contemporary questions regarding stillbirth by updating the 2015 UK Stillbirth Priority Setting Partnership (PSP)

Ionothermal Synthesis of Cu(Sb2Se3)[AlCl4] and Cu5(Bi2Se3)6[AlCl4]5 : Monolayers of Sb2Se3 and Bi2Se3 Stabilized by Cu[AlCl4]

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
Ionothermal synthesis in Lewis‐acidic ionic liquids (ILs) yields two new low‐dimensional pnictogen–selenide networks cocrystallized with Cu[AlCl4]. Both are narrow‐gap semiconductors that exhibit strong absorption throughout the visible range. Topochemical AlCl3 extraction triggers partial delamination, pointing to a viable route toward 2D derivatives.

Iflaviruses in arthropods: when small is mighty

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Many arthropod species harbor iflaviruses, which often cause covert (asymptomatic) infections, but may still affect host fitness. We review the impact of iflaviruses on arthropod fitness, immunity, behaviour as well as the iflavirus’ host range, transmission, tissue tropism and the interactions with other microorganisms within arthropods.

Distinct Skin Penetration and Immune Responses to Ionic and Nanoparticulate Cobalt in Allergic Contact Dermatitis

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Cobalt chloride (CoCl2) and cobalt nanoparticles (CoNPs) induce a shared, severity‐dependent inflammatory response in cobalt‐sensitized skin characterized by activation of interferon signaling, inflammatory pathways (TNF/NF‐κβ, IL6‐STAT3), apoptosis/UPR, cell cycle programs, and glycolysis.

Exploring sensory processing sensitivity: Relationships with mental and somatic health, interactions with positive and negative environments, and evidence for differential susceptibility

open access: yesCurrent Research in Behavioral Sciences
Environment may play a role in how the evolutionarily conserved personality trait sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) relates to health. Nevertheless, there has been no comprehensive investigation of the relationships between SPS and mental and somatic ...

Promoting student well‐being in schools: Intervention effects and the role of student–student relationships and intrinsic motivation

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Student well‐being is a core educational goal and a foundation for successful learning, yet it tends to decline during secondary school. Many school‐based interventions show promising but inconsistent effects on student well‐being. Also, the role of individual and classroom factors in shaping effects remains unclear.

Graph‐based Black and White Stylization

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Stippling is an art style forming images from large numbers of small dots. Computer graphics practitioners have proposed numerous algorithms for stippling and stippling variants over the years. In this paper, we propose a black and white image stylization technique in which the image is formed from heterogeneous black and white vector marks ...

Single Line Drawing Generation via Semantics‐Driven Optimization

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We present a method for automatically generating single‐line drawings in vector format, guided by a text prompt or an input image. Our approach leverages score distillation sampling to optimize the parameters of a uniform rational B‐spline (URBS) curve, ensuring that the drawing consists of a single continuous stroke by design.
