MGM as a Large‐Scale Pretrained Foundation Model for Microbiome Analyses in Diverse Contexts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present the Microbial General Model (MGM), a transformer‐based foundation model pretrained on over 260,000 microbiome samples. MGM learns contextualized microbial representations via self‐supervised language modeling, enabling robust transfer learning, cross‐regional generalization, keystone taxa discovery, and prompt‐guided generation of realistic,

Advance planning in written and spoken sentence production.

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Psychology. Learning, Memory and Cognition, 2018
Response onset latencies for sentences that start with a conjoined noun phrase are typically longer than for sentences starting with a simple noun phrase.

Alphaviral Capsid Proteins Inhibit Stress Granule Assembly via Competitive RNA Binding With G3BP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stress granules exert antiviral functions. This study illustrates a conserved function of alphaviral capsid proteins in modulating stress granules. Oligomerization mediated by a helical motif coupled with a positively charged intrinsically disordered region (IDR) directly competes with G3BP1 for RNA binding, thereby disrupting G3BP1‐RNA liquid–liquid ...

Investigating the possibility of a syntactic impairment in the semantic variant of PPA using a constrained production task: Preliminary findings

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
In the semantic variant of primary progressive aphasia (svPPA), syntactic skills are generally thought to be preserved, while in the non-fluent variant (nfvPPA) syntactic impairment is a core diagnostic feature (Gorno-Tempini et al., 2011).

Cytokine‐Engineered Chimeric Antigen Receptor‐T Cell Therapy: How to Balance the Efficacy and Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytokine‐engineered CAR‐T cells represent a promising immunotherapy against malignancies due to direct tumor killing and potent immunity response. However, significant toxicities, including CRS and ICANS, have restricted clinical applications. How to keep the risk‐benefit balance of the advanced therapy is of great importance for maximizing the benefit

Textual Economy through Close Coupling of Syntax and Semantics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We focus on the production of efficient descriptions of objects, actions and events. We define a type of efficiency, textual economy, that exploits the hearer's recognition of inferential links to material elsewhere within a sentence.

Structure‐Dependent Resonant Frequency Engineering of Textile Tactile Sensors Toward Rapid and Precise Braille Recognition Surpassing Human Sensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A resonant frequency engineering strategy is proposed to modulate the sensibility of piezoresistive textile‐based tactile sensor. It achieves simultaneous detection of static pressure and dynamic vibrations across an unprecedented bandwidth of 5–600 Hz, surpassing human sensation, therefore enables rapid and precise braille recognition.

Nuclear matter effects on $J/\psi$ production in asymmetric Cu+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}$ = 200 GeV

open access: yes, 2014
We report on $J/\psi$ production from asymmetric Cu+Au heavy-ion collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}$=200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at both forward (Cu-going direction) and backward (Au-going direction) rapidities.

Production and processing asymmetries in the acquisition of tense morphology by sequential bilingual children [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This study investigates the production and on-line processing of English tense morphemes by sequential bilingual (L2) Turkish-speaking children with more than three years of exposure to English.

MicrobeDiscover: A Knowledge Graph–Enabled AI Framework for Identifying Microbes for Inorganic Nanomaterial Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microbial synthesis of nanomaterials (NMs) is eco‐friendly, but the screening of microorganisms is limited by inefficient traditional methods (currently only involving∽400 microorganisms/90 NMs). We propose AI framework MicrobeDiscover, integrating a knowledge graph of microbe‐NM interactions.
