Constructing modular separating invariants
Consider a finite dimensional representation \(V\) of a group \(G\) over a field \(F\). The induced action on the dual \(V^*\) extends to an action by algebra automorphisms on the symmetric algebra \(F[V]:=S(V^*)\). The elements of \(F[V]\) represent polynomial functions on \(V\). An invariant polynomial \(f\in F[V]^G\) is constant on \(G\)-orbits. For

On Schur Decomposition of Magnetic and Velocity Gradient Tensors in Space Plasma Turbulence
The study of the statistics of gradient tensors’ invariants is useful to characterize the morphological/topological features of magnetic flux and plasma velocity flow lines in turbulent space plasmas. In the recent past, some studies of the statistics of

Separating G2-invariants of several octonions
We describe separating G_2-invariants of several copies of the algebra of octonions over an algebraically closed field of characteristic two. We also obtain a minimal separating and a minimal generating set for G_2-invariants of several copies of the algebra of octonions in case of a field of odd characteristic.

Infinitesimal Operations on Complexes of Graphs [PDF]
In two seminal papers Kontsevich used a construction called_graph homology_ as a bridge between certain infinite dimensional Lie algebras and various topological objects, including moduli spaces of curves, the group of outer automorphisms of a free group,

The Weinstein Conjecture for Hamiltonian Fibrations
In this note we extend to non trivial Hamiltonian fibrations over symplectically uniruled manifolds a result of Lu's, \cite{Lu}, stating that any trivial symplectic product of two closed symplectic manifolds with one of them being symplectically uniruled

The Noether number of the non-abelian group of order 3p [PDF]
It is proven that for any representation over a field of characteristic 0 of the non-abelian semidirect product of a cyclic group of prime order p and the group of order 3 the corresponding algebra of polynomial invariants is generated by elements of ...

Kneadings, Symbolic Dynamics and Painting Lorenz Chaos. A Tutorial
A new computational technique based on the symbolic description utilizing kneading invariants is proposed and verified for explorations of dynamical and parametric chaos in a few exemplary systems with the Lorenz attractor.

Higher Spin Klein Surfaces [PDF]
We find all m-spin structures on Klein surfaces of genus larger than one. An m-spin structure on a Riemann surface P is a complex line bundle on P whose m-th tensor power is the cotangent bundle of P.

Link invariants via counting surfaces
A Gauss diagram is a simple, combinatorial way to present a knot. It is known that any Vassiliev invariant may be obtained from a Gauss diagram formula that involves counting (with signs and multiplicities) subdiagrams of certain combinatorial types ...
