Correcting geometric distortions in stereoscopic 3D imaging. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Motion in a distorted virtual 3D space may cause visually induced motion sickness. Geometric distortions in stereoscopic 3D can result from mismatches among image capture, display, and viewing parameters.

Calculation and Analysis of Aircraft Pollutant Emission Based on Time Wake Separation Mode under Coastal Airport and Headwind Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2021
During the final approach, the headwind leads to a reduction of landing rate, which affects the achieved capacity and the predictability of operation, time, fuel efficiency, and environmental pollution.

Exercise Capacity, Physical Activity, Fatigue, and Neurocognitive Function in Adult Survivors of Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adult survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of reduced exercise capacity, decreased physical activity levels, persistent fatigue, and neurocognitive deficits. The aim was to investigate exercise capacity and physical activity levels of adult survivors of childhood ALL and their associations with ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Influence of expansion corner on the interaction of dual separation zones

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
The complex shock waves/boundary layer interaction is an important problem in inlets, which induces the interaction of multiple separation zones and has attracted experts’ attention gradually.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
