Blind Component Separation in Wavelet Space: Application to CMB Analysis

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
It is a recurrent issue in astronomical data analysis that observations are incomplete maps with missing patches or intentionally masked parts. In addition, many astrophysical emissions are nonstationary processes over the sky.

Triphase Separation of a Ternary Symmetric Highly Viscous Mixture

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
We discuss numerical results of diffusion-driven separation into three phases of a symmetric, three-component highly viscous liquid mixture after an instantaneous quench from the one-phase region into an unstable location within the tie triangle of its ...

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Fast Exclusion Candidate Identification Based on Sparse Estimation for ARAIM Fault Exclusion Process

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Advanced receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (ARAIM) is an integrity technique for a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), centered on the multiple hypothesis solution separation (MHSS) test, which assesses the consistency between a subset and ...

Mutual Exclusion Statistics in Exactly Solvable Models in One and Higher Dimensions at Low Temperatures

open access: yes, 1996
We study statistical characterization of the many-body states in exactly solvable models with internal degrees of freedom. The models under consideration include the isotropic and anisotropic Heisenberg spin chain, the Hubbard chain, and a model in ...

Gravitational lensing statistical properties in general FRW cosmologies with dark energy component(s): analytic results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Various astronomical observations have been consistently making a strong case for the existence of a component of dark energy with negative pressure in the universe.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

Underdetermined blind source separation based on third‐order cumulant and tensor compression

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
A method for Underdetermined Blind Source Separation is proposed using third‐order cumulants and tensor compression. To effectively suppress symmetrical distributed noise, the third‐order cumulant is considered.
