A Scale of Black Separatism

Revision of the Black Power Sentiment Scale as a measure of black separatism is described. Reliability of the 24-item scale was .80 (Cronbach's alpha). A study based on responses of 257 Negro students supported the validity of the scale in identifying black separatist extremism of the Black Panther variety.
