Adsorption of Nitrate Ions onto Sepiolite and Surfactant-Modified Sepiolite
The adsorption of nitrate ions onto clay minerals has not been given much attention, possibly because clay surfaces are negatively charged. In order to increase the positive charge on the surface, sepiolite was modified in the present studies by ...

Adsorption of phenol and chlorophenols on pure and modified sepiolite [PDF]
In this work, pure sepiolite and sepiolite modified by nitric acid (HNO3), ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and hexadecyltrimethylammonium (HDTMA) were used ad adsorbents. The changes on the surface were studied by IR spectroscopy.

The Structure and Properties of Sepiolite with Partial Lattice Ions Substituted by Aluminum Ions
Sepiolite was modified with Al3+ via hydrothermal reaction. The substitution amount of Al3+ for Mg2+ and Si4+ located at sepiolite lattice and the influence of substitution amount on the structure, specific surface area, and surface acidity of Al ...

Zeolite–sepiolite nanoheterostructures [PDF]
Zeolite–sepiolite inorganic nanoheterostructures have been hydrothermally synthesized by adding a dispersion of colloidal sepiolite to a solution able to produce a nanocrystalline zeolite (silicalite). The obtained product could be recovered in good yield by simple filtration only when the relative sepiolite concentration exceeded a threshold of 1.8 wt%

Purification of sepiolite and its dissolution in hydrochloric acid and sodium Acetate-Acetic acid buffer. [PDF]
The associated impurities with sepiolite, mainly palygorskite, quartz, and dolomite, reduce the industrial quality of this mineral. The objectives of this study were to i) investigate the efficiency of particle size separation for purifying sepiolite and
