Engineering a Bioelectronic Hybrid Heart with Integrated Sensing and Electrical Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioelectronic hybrid heart is engineered by integrating iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes, a decellularized cardiac scaffold, a cell‐laden ECM coating, and a flexible electronic mesh. The embedded electrodes enable real‐time recording of spontaneous electrical activity and localized stimulation, allowing controlled pacing and modulation of activation ...

PBP1 localizes to the poles and septa of M. smegmatis.

open access: yes, 2016
Fluorescence microscopy of M. smegmatis expressing M. tuberculosis PBP1 fused to monomeric red fluorescent protein (RFP). PBP1-RFP fusion protein is under the control of a tetracycline-inducible promoter.

An Infusible Decellularized Extracellular Matrix Material Binds to Vasculature in Infarcted Myocardium and Induces Pro‐Reparative Gene Expression Following Acute Myocardial Infarction Through Inherent Avidity and Bioactive Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To better characterize an infusible extracellular matrix (iECM) material, we applied size‐based fractionation to separate out components into two major fractions. We characterized these fractions to understand how material properties such as composition, morphology, and biochemical properties affect bioactive effects in the context of acute myocardial ...

Dural sinus septum: an underlying cause of cerebral venous sinus stenting failure and complications

open access: yesStroke and Vascular Neurology
Objectives The presence of dural sinus septum has long been identified anatomically but is often neglected for its clinical significance. Our findings revealed the association of dural sinus septum with venous sinus stenting failure and complications ...

Floating septum technique: easy and safe method maxillary sinus septa in sinus lifting procedure

open access: yesMaxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2019
Background The presence of septa increases the risk of Schneiderian membrane perforation during sinus lift procedure, and therefore, the chance of graft failure increases.

Lactylation of HSC70 Impairs Chaperone‐Mediated Autophagy to Promote Pyrin Inflammasome‐Dependent PANoptosis in Macrophages During Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In sepsis, lactate accumulation drives HSC70 K561 lactylation, which impairs chaperone‐mediated autophagy and blocks CUX1 degradation. Accumulated CUX1 transcriptionally upregulates Pyrin, triggering PANoptosis in macrophages and exacerbating inflammatory storm and organ injury.

More about the role of 2,6-dichlorophenol in tick courtship: identification and olfactometer bioassay in Amblyomma cajennense and Rhipicephalus sanguineus

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2008
This study aimed to identify 2,6-dichlorophenol (2,6-DCP) in Amblyomma cajennense and to evaluate its role in A. cajennense and Rhipicephalus sanguineus courtship.
