Cleomaceae: diversity and potential of a model family for studies on the evolution of photosynthesis
The Cleomaceae family integrates floral diversity, physiological plasticity, and the evolution of C4 photosynthesis, serving as an important model to investigate plant adaptation and evolutionary innovation. Abstract Understanding the physiological and molecular mechanisms by which plants adapt to environmental factors is essential for improving crop ...

Vertical Zonality Of Septal Nectaries Of Monocots
Considering the septal nectary as a system of exogenous cavities inside the ovary and taking account of possibilities of various ways of the formation of nectary walls we propose to apply the concept of vertical zonality to the analysis of the septal nectary structure.

Abstract Premise Uncarina contains 14 species of woody plants endemic to Madagascar. Its occurrence across dryland biomes on the island make it an interesting system to study the diversification of the flora. Methods Using samples of all species and 512 nuclear loci, we reconstructed phylogenetic trees to examine species relationships and assess their ...

A rapid and scalable approach to build synthetic repetitive hormone‐responsive promoters
A simple method to build repetitive DNA fragments that are not amenable to direct commercial DNA synthesis was developed and employed to generate a new synthetic ethylene‐responsive promoter, 10x2EBS‐S10. Summary Advancement of DNA‐synthesis technologies has greatly facilitated the development of synthetic biology tools.

Phylogeny and reclassification of Lampranthus (Ruschieae, Aizoaceae) in southern Africa
Abstract Lampranthus consists of 85 species of succulent perennials which are all endemic to southern Africa. Most of its species are restricted to fynbos and regenerate in large numbers after fires. We use nine chloroplast markers to generate a phylogeny with a dense sampling of Lampranthus and some taxa which may be closely related to it.
