Incidence and factors associated with intrauterine adhesions: An Australian population‐based longitudinal study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In an Australian national cohort, 2.7% women had reported intrauterine adhesions and the incidence rate increased gradually from women's early 30s to middle 40s, which was associated with better access to health services, severe period pain, and heavy periods.

Pebbled mosaic‐like heterogeneous echogenicity in ovarian immature teratomas and correlation of ultrasound patterns with pathological grades

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
This study characterizes heterogeneous mottled grayscale ultrasound echoes of ovarian immature teratoma as the “pebbled mosaic sign,” noting solid lesions correlate with advanced pathological grades. Preoperative identification of immature tissue informs operative stratification. Abstract Introduction Ovarian immature teratomas (ITs) are rare malignant

Lipoleiomyoma of the Uterus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Lipoleiomyomas are uncommon benign neoplasms of uterus consisting of variable portions of mature lipocytes and smooth muscle cells. These tumours generally occur in asymptomatic obese perimenopausal or menopausal women.

Reproductive outcome after hysteroscopic septoplasty in patients with septate uterus - a retrospective cohort study and systematic review of the literature

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology, 2010
Background Septate uterus, one of the most common forms of congenital uterine malformations, negatively affects female reproductive health. Methods In a retrospective cohort study, we evaluated the reproductive outcome after hysteroscopic septoplasty in ...

Müllerian Duct Aplasia in a Girl With SMARCB1‐Related Coffin–Siris Syndrome: A Rare Co‐Occurring Anomaly

open access: yesClinical Genetics, EarlyView.
Genetic causes of Müllerian aplasia remain largely unknown. We report the first molecularly confirmed case of Coffin–Siris syndrome 3 caused by a de novo SMARCB1 variant presenting with Müllerian aplasia, supporting a potential association between BAF complex dysfunction and abnormal Müllerian duct development. Created in BioRender. Herlin, M. K. (2026)

Giants in the cold: Morphological evidence for vascular heat retention in the viscera but not the skeletal muscle of the basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fewer than 50 of the over 30,000 extant species of fishes have developed anatomical specializations facilitating endothermy in specific body regions. The plankton‐feeding basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus), traditionally classified as an ectotherm, was recently shown to have regionally endothermic traits such as centralized red muscle (RM ...

Cannabinoid exposure during pregnancy: Cardiorespiratory effects and offspring outcomes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to cannabinoids has been investigated across human and animal studies to understand its impact on physiological development. Evidence suggests that early‐life cannabinoid exposure influence multiple developmental processes, extending beyond neurodevelopmental outcomes to potentially affect placental function ...

HYSTEROSCOPIC RESECTION OF UTERINE SEPTUM – EFFECTS ON PREGNANCY

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2003
Background. In women with spontaneous abortions, preterm deliveries or infertility, septate uterus is often detected on transvaginal ultrasound examination. Since 1993 we have used hysteroscopic resection to correct this anomaly.

Human placental exposure to pollutant nanoparticles: uptake, translocation and functional impact

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to pollutant nanoparticles has been increasingly investigated due to concerns about their potential effects on placental function and pregnancy outcomes. Maternal inhalation of pollutant nanoparticles can result in a pro‐inflammatory response; particles can also translocate across the alveolus epithelial barrier
