Adaptation to Sequence Force Perturbation during Vertical and Horizontal Reaching Movement- Averaging the Past or Predicting the Future?

open access: yesFrontiers in Systems Neuroscience, 2012
Several studies conducted during the past decade have suggested that episodic memory is better equipped to handle the future than the past. Here, we consider this premise in the context of motor memory.

Powers of sequences and convergence of ergodic averages [PDF]

open access: yesErgodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 2009
AbstractA sequence (sn) of integers is good for the mean ergodic theorem if for each invertible measure-preserving system (X,ℬ,μ,T) and any bounded measurable function f, the averages (1/N)∑ Nn=1f(Tsnx) converge in the L2(μ) norm. We construct a sequence (sn) which is good for the mean ergodic theorem but such that the sequence (s2n) is not ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A FORECASTING METHOD BASED ON CLUSTERING THE POLYNOMIAL EXTRAPOLATION SEQUENCE

open access: yesКомпютерні системи та інформаційні технології
Time series forecasting is an important task in intelligent data analysis, especially under conditions of short samples, local non-stationarity, noise, and increased sensitivity to external disturbances.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Controlling structures, deformations and homotopy theory for averaging algebras

open access: yes, 2023
An averaging operator on an associative algebra $A$ is an algebraic abstraction of the time average operator on the space of real-valued functions defined in time-space.

Geometrical Structure Classification of Target HRRP Scattering Centers Based on Dual Polarimetric $H/\alpha$ Features

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Polarimetric high resolution range profile (HRRP) contains the geometrical structural information along radar line-of-sight and has shown great potentials in target recognition. In existing researches, H/α decomposition has been applied to exploit
