Synergistic W and V Doping Induce Defects and Thus a High Catalytic Surface Area in MoS2 for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Double doping with V and W of hydrothermal microwave‐grown MoS2 enhances the density of structural defects. It improves the ECSA and shifts the surface chemistry to an oxysulfide‐rich environment. The resulting VW‐doped MoS2 nanoflowers thus demonstrate robust electrocatalysis of hydrogen evolution.

Synthesis of α‐C‐Glycoside Conjugates Promoted by 4CzIPN‐Based Porous Organic Polymers Through Giese‐Like Reaction of Glycosyl Bromides in Batch and Continuous Flow

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Visible light and a 4CzIPN‐based porous organic polymer (4CzIPN‐POP) enable Giese‐like coupling of glycosyl bromides with electron‐poor alkenes to access α‐C‐glycoside conjugates. The study shows how heterogeneous thermally activated delayed fluorescence photocatalysis can be combined with continuous flow to overcome light penetration limits and ...

Integrating anaerobic and photochemical processes: UV–vis‐driven post‐treatment for micropollutant abatement and toxicity control in UASB secondary effluent

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactors are widely used in low‐ and middle‐income countries, but secondary effluents may still contain organic micropollutants and residual toxicity. This study evaluated UV–Vis photolysis and UV/H2O2 as post‐treatment options for UASB secondary effluent (SE), integrating micropollutant ...
