Sequential Functions and Linear Sequential Machines

IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1965
The``state'' of a sequential machine is interpreted as the sequence-to-sequence input-output mapping performed by the machine. Such mappings have been called sequential functions. This concept of state is applied to the theory of binary linear sequential machines.

Sequential Rhytidectomy

The Laryngoscope, 1978
An alternate technique of rhytidectomy is described. After adequate undermining, hemostasis and imbrication, the skin flaps are rotated and advanced with sequential tension in contrast to the use of bipolar or tripolar anchoring points. They are then trimmed and sutured in a step‐like sequential fashion starting at the temporal incision and proceeding ...

On sequential modelling of non-sequential processes

1976
The aim of this paper is to answer the question whether all properties of discrete non-sequential processes can be expressed and proved in the framework of sequential descriptions of such processes. The paper deals only with the processes which can be defined in terms of Petri nets.

Sequential Banking

Journal of Political Economy, 1992
The authors study environments in which agents may borrow sequentially from more than one leader. Although debt is prioritized, additional lending imposes an externality on prior debt because, with moral hazard, the probability of repayment of prior loans decreases.

Sequential dependencies

Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2009
We study sequential dependencies that express the semantics of data with ordered domains and help identify quality problems with such data. Given an interval g , we write X → g Y to denote that the difference between the ...

The Sequential Truel

International Journal of Game Theory, 1975
The Sequential Truel is a three-person game which generalizes the simple duel. The players' positions are fixed at the vertices of an equilateral triangle, and they fire, in sequence, until there is only one survivor or until each survivor has fired a pre-specified number of times.

On Sequential Separability

Mathematical Notes, 2005
A space \(X\) is sequentially separable if there exists a countable subset \(A\) of \(X\) such that each \(x\in X\) is the limit of some sequence of points of \(A\). The author proves the following results. \textbf{(1) } The space \(C_p(X)\) of continuous real valued functions on \(X\) with the topology of pointwise convergence is sequentially ...

Sequential order of compact sequential spaces

2007
The problem of finding compact Hausdorff sequential spaces of sequential order $\alpha \le \omega_1$ is important and highly nontrivial. A solution has been searched in ZFC, but unsuccessfully up to now. Classically it was solved under CH, and more recently under MA up to order four. We present here a construction of a space of order three that appears

On the symmetry of sequentiality

1994
We offer a symmetric account of sequentiality, by means of symmetric algorithms, which are pairs of sequential functions, mapping input data to output data, and output exploration trees to input exploration trees, respectively. We use the framework of sequential data structures, a reformulation of a class of Kahn-Plotkin's concrete data structures.
