Immunogenicity, safety and adverse events of sequential vaccination with a 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) and PPSV23 compared with PPSV23 alone in systemic lupus erythematosus

open access: yesLupus Science and Medicine
Background SLE has increased risk of invasive pneumococcal disease due to immune dysregulation and immunosuppression. European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology recommendations suggest sequential vaccination with conjugate vaccine, followed by 23-

Effects of Injection Rate Profile on Combustion Process and Emissions in a Diesel Engine

open access: yesJournal of Combustion, 2017
When multi-injection is implemented in diesel engine via high pressure common rail injection system, changed interval between injection pulses can induce variation of injection rate profile for sequential injection pulse, though other control parameters ...

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

RECENT ADVANCES IN FLOW INJECTION TECHNIQUE-SEQUENTIAL INJECTION SENSOR INJECTION AND SINUSOIDAL FLOW

open access: yesAnalytical Sciences, 1991
Transformation of Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) into Flow Injection Technique (FI) signifies recognition of a tremendous versatility of this method, which being originally designed as a mere tool for automation of serial assays, now becomes a universal means for enhancement of instrumental methods of analysis.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Potentiating effect of AMD3100 on bone morphogenetic protein-2 induced bone regeneration

open access: yesMaxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Background AMD3100, a CXCR4 antagonist, is currently prescribed for activating the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells. Recently, AMD3100 was shown to potentiate bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2)-induced bone formation by stimulating the ...

Automated Online Solid-Phase Extraction Coupled with Sequential Injection-HPLC-EC System for the Determination of Sulfonamides in Shrimp

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemistry, 2012
The use of fully automated online solid-phase extraction (SPE) coupled with sequential injection analysis, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and electrochemical detection (EC) for the separation and determination of sulfonamides has been ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...
