Combining analytic methods to unlock sequential and temporal patterns of self-regulated learning
International Conference on Learning Analytics and Knowledge, 2020The temporal and sequential nature of learning is receiving increasing focus in Learning Analytics circles. The desire to embed studies in recognised theories of self-regulated learning (SRL) has led researchers to conceptualise learning as a process ...

Monitoring of Sequential Binary Patterns
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1963An attempt was made to obtain a rough estimate of the human S's monitoring span. Sequences of binary digits were flashed to Ss whose task was to indicate the occurrence of a specific pattern of digits. The upper limit of monitoring performance is about 7 digits per second.

From Sequential Patterns to Structural Relation Patterns
2009 International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications; Eighth International Conference on Embedded Computing, 2009As an important branch of data mining, sequential patterns mining has been extensively studied. Based on sequential patterns mining, Structural Relation Patterns (SRPs) mining is proposed for mining relations among sequences, these relations are generally hidden behind sequential patterns.

SQUIRE: sequential pattern mining with quantities
Proceedings. 20th International Conference on Data Engineering, 2004In this paper, we consider the problem of mining sequential patterns with quantities. Naive extensions to existing algorithms for sequential patterns are inefficient, as they may enumerate the search space blindly. To alleviate the situation, we propose hash filtering and quantity sampling techniques that significantly improve the performance of the ...

Sequential cardiorespiratory patterns in septic shock
Critical Care Medicine, 1983Sequential hemodynamic and oxygen transport monitoring was performed in 33 patients with septic shock to define the temporal pattern of physiologic events. Measurements taken over a 24-h period before the hypotensive crisis, defined as the lowest initial mean arterial pressure (MAP), were compared to those taken during the 48 h thereafter.

Sequential Pattern Mining Using IDLists
2020Sequential pattern mining is a practical problem whose objective is to discover helpful informative patterns in a stored database such as market transaction databases. It covers many applications in different areas. Recently, a study that improved the runtime for mining patterns was proposed.

Permutation-Based Sequential Pattern Hiding
2013 IEEE 13th International Conference on Data Mining, 2013Sequence data are increasingly shared to enable mining applications, in various domains such as marketing, telecommunications, and healthcare. This, however, may expose sensitive sequential patterns, which lead to intrusive inferences about individuals or leak confidential information about organizations. This paper presents the first permutation-based

eSeeTrack—Visualizing Sequential Fixation Patterns
IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2010We introduce eSeeTrack, an eye-tracking visualization prototype that facilitates exploration and comparison of sequential gaze orderings in a static or a dynamic scene. It extends current eye-tracking data visualizations by extracting patterns of sequential gaze orderings, displaying these patterns in a way that does not depend on the number of ...
