In Vivo Biosynthesis and Direct Incorporation of Noncanonical Amino Acids into Proteins

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
This review evaluates engineered (semi)autonomous cell systems for the biosynthesis and incorporation of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) into proteins. While semi‐autonomous cells convert supplied precursors into ncAAs autonomous cells integrate biosynthetic pathways that produce these building blocks intracellularly.

The Prognostic Value of Troponin in Acute Pulmonary Embolism: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is a major cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Troponin elevation is increasingly used for risk stratification, but its prognostic utility remains variably reported across studies. To evaluate the prognostic value of troponin elevation in patients with acute PE, concerning short‐term mortality and ...

Copper‐Catalyzed Hydrosilylation of Nitroarenes: Chemoselective Reduction to Aromatic Amines

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A commercially available copper‐hydride complex was utilized as an effective catalyst for the hydrosilylation of nitroarenes to aromatic amines. Nitroarenes with diverse functionalities were efficiently reduced to anilines with good chemoselectivity. The practicality of this reduction protocol was demonstrated through the synthesis of pharmaceuticals ...

Nano Hexagon NiCeO2 for Al–Air Batteries: A Combined Experimental and Density Functional Theory Study of Oxygen Reduction Reaction Activity

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
An Al‐air battery employing a NiCeO2 cathode achieves an open‐circuit voltage of 1.65 V, a high discharge capacity of 1070 mAh g−1, and a power density of 77.64 mW cm−2, demonstrating its potential for high‐performance energy storage applications. Nano hexagon NiCeO2 is synthesized via a simple one‐pot hydrothermal method and evaluated as a highly ...

Visible Light‐Induced N‐Heterocyclic Nitrenium‐Catalyzed Deoxygenative Borylation of Acyl Chlorides

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Herein, direct deoxygenative borylation of acyl chlorides is reported, which is an unknown but desirable chemical transformation. The N‐heterocyclic nitrenium ion has been utilized as the photocatalyst under mild reaction conditions to synthesize a series of alkylboronates using bis‐(catecholato)diboron (B2cat2) as the diboron reagent.

43,44,47,48‐Tetrathiaoctaphyrin(2.1.1.1.2.1.1.1) and its Organometallic bis‐RhIII Complex: Coordination‐Driven Switching of Conformation and Aromaticity

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A figure‐eight‐shaped tetrathiaoctaphyrin (left) undergoes reversible redox and conformational switching upon coordination to two Rh(III) centers, yielding a globally aromatic [38]annulene structure (right). The Rh2 complex, formed via fourfold CH metalation, displays rare isomerism driven by local helicity and axial ligand switching.

High Pressure Stabilizes the Elusive Hexacoordinated Carbon

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
The MCF6 species (M = Ca, Sr) is more stable than the bicomponent MF2…CF4 mixture in the solid‐state at high pressure (p > 400 GPa). The main building block is the [CF6]2− unit in which carbon is hexacoordinated. Unusually high coordination number for elements has been of great interest in chemistry.
