The influence of modulated magnetic field on light absorption in SERF atomic magnetometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2022
A single-beam spin-exchange relaxation-free atomic magnetometer is ultra-sensitive in the zero field, which has great potential for the detection of a magnetoencephalogram. The addition of a modulated magnetic field is an important approach to achieve high sensitivity for devices of this kind.

Chip scale atomic magnetometer based on SERF

2009 4th IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2009
We are developing a new detection scheme for magnetometers based on atomic vapor confined in millimeter-scale micromachined enclosures and atomic Zeeman transitions. By adding three micro-reflective mirrors and modifying the light path arrangement, the new detection scheme effectively hurdles the main obstacle which prevents SERF from being applied in ...

Microfabricated SERF Atomic Magnetometers for Measurement of Weak Magnetic Field

2020 IEEE 70th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC), 2020
This paper introduces measurement of weak magnetic field using a novel design of chip-scale Spin Exchange Relaxation Free (SERF) atomic magnetometer based on a microfabricated Rubidium (Rb) vapor cell. The sensor, which integrates a micro-fabricated Rb vapor cell, a heater and related components, is fabricated by stacking printed circuit boards (PCB ...

Portable Circuit Design Based on SERF Atomic Magnetometer

2019 3rd International Conference on Circuits, System and Simulation (ICCSS), 2019
In this design, we realized the control of SERF atomic magnetometer from the perspective of circuit, which involves the abstraction of model and equivalent substitution. To achieve portability and miniaturization, we realized the functional replacement of the corresponding instrument with a custom-made PCB.

Chip-Scale SERF Atomic Magnetometer without Magnetic Shield

2017 IEEE 67th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC), 2017
Atomic magnetometer operating in spin-exchange-relaxation-free (SERF) regime has a wide range of applications due to its ultra-high sensitivity. However, the requirement of operating in near-zero magnetic field restricts some of the applications which need the atomic magnetometer to work in the high field environment such as monitoring the magnetic ...
