The ultrahigh sensitivity atomic spin magnetometer as the magnetic measurement sensor has received much concern. The performance of the magnetic shielding cylinder is one of the key factors constraining the atomic spin magnetometer’s sensitivity. In order to effectively improve the performances of the magnetic shielding, the parameter optimization ...

High Sensitivity Optically Pumped Quantum Magnetometer
Quantum magnetometers based on optical pumping can achieve sensitivity as high as what SQUID‐based devices can attain. In this paper, we discuss the principle of operation and the optimal design of an optically pumped quantum magnetometer. The ultimate intrinsic sensitivity is calculated showing that optimal performance of the magnetometer is attained ...

Influence of laser heating temperature characteristics on SERF atomic magnetometer
The SERF atomic magnetometer typically operates in a high-temperature and zero-magnetic-field regime. Among common heating methods, laser heating is a promising method since it is magnetically clean and stable. In this work, we for the first time introduce an orthogonal laser heating configuration to improve the temperature ...

Sub‐Ensemble Isolation in SERF Magnetometry Enabled by Micrometer‐Scale Polarization Control
Inter‐channel crosstalk caused by atomic diffusion fundamentally limits the spatial resolution of single‐cell multi‐channel SERF magnetometers. In this work, a spatial‐variant polarization metasurface is employed to achieve effective sub‐ensemble isolation within a single SERF atomic ensemble, which enables the suppression of inter‐channel crosstalk ...

Single beam Cs-Ne SERF atomic magnetometer with the laser power differential method
We describe a single beam compact spin exchange relaxation free (SERF) magnetometer whose configuration is simple and compatible with the silicon-glass bonding micro-machining method. Due to the small size of the vapor cell utilized in a miniature atomic magnetometer, the wall relaxation could not be neglected.
