Serial Defaults, Serial Profits
2017This chapter looks at the profitability of banking families. Lending to the king of Spain made good business sense; it was hugely profitable on average, despite periodic defaults and restructurings. Defaults and reschedulings reduced the rate of return, but profitability net of these losses was still high—and markedly higher than the return on ...

The American Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2002
During the past 15 years, medicine has witnessed several important advances in coronary artery reperfusion therapy for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Both percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and thrombolytic therapy have made significant advances in the early treatment of the AMI patient.

4096-bit serial decoded multiphase serial-parallel-serial CCD memory
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1976A new practical form of charged-coupled device (CCD) memory structure is described which achieves high storage density while providing low clock-line capacitance. In the new structure, the time-division multiplexing of multiphase concepts is replaced by the spatial multiplexing of a serial-parallel-serial (SPS) array.

Serials Review, 1974
A visit last July to the American Library Association's annual conference in New York City proved both rewarding and frustrating. There was not enough time for the editor of this column to thoroughly inspect all the reference serials which were displayed—a mind‐numbing assortment of new and changing titles.

Summary: A fixed group of \(n\) agents share a one input, one output technology with decreasing returns. We propose the following cost sharing formula. Agent 1 with the lowest demand of output \(q_ 1\) pays \((1/n)\)th of the cost of \(nq_ 1\). Agent 2, with the next lowest demand \(q_ 2\) pays agent 1's cost share plus \(1/(n-1)\)th of the incremental

Introduction: Serial Genders, Gendered Serialities
2021The introduction critically explores the two paradigms underlying this study: gender and seriality. It assembles an interdisciplinary theoretical framework for the following readings and terminology that the book develops. The work of Iris Marion Young, Judith Butler, and Judith Roof figures prominently, especially their understanding of gender as an ...

Serial Killers and Serial Rapists
2008This chapter reviews the typologies for serial murder and serial rape. The aim here is to showcase the principal conceptual models that have accounted for these two forms of criminal behavior in the extant literature. Additionally, however, the chapter considers where and how the typologies on serial rape and murder could be integrated, especially with
