Power Factor Correction Using a Series Active Filter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2005This work presents a low-cost approach to power factor correction (PFC) of single-phase diode rectifiers using a series active filter. Comparing with the traditional PFC, the proposed PFC has lower requirements of power device ratings, which leads to lower cost, higher efficiency, and lower electromagnetic interference.

Power factor correction using a series active filter
IEEE 34th Annual Conference on Power Electronics Specialist, 2003. PESC '03., 2003This paper present a low-cost approach to power factor correction (PFC) for single-phase diode rectifiers using a series active filter. Comparing with the traditional PFC, the proposed PFC has lower requirements of power device ratings, which leads to lower cost and higher efficiency, and it also can eliminate the bulky inductor needed in the ...

Saturation influence on the performances of series active power filter
2009 35th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2009This paper presents a study on the injection transformer, showing the influence of its saturation on the performances of the series active power filter to compensate the voltage perturbation. The determination of voltage references for series active power filter is based on a robust three-phase digital phase locked loop (PLL).

Improvement of Power Quality Using Series Active Power Filter(SAPF)
2020 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical,Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS), 2020Modern power electronics devices like active power filter and comprehensive simulation study of Relay gives the idea of power quality. Generally, in electrical parallel circuits voltage is constant and current is variable parameter, so by using parallel active filter provided variable currents in system and mainly series active filters are used for ...

Comparison of active power filters with series-connected capacitor
2008 IEEE 2nd International Power and Energy Conference, 2008In this paper, a method for reducing the voltage stresses on power components and power losses in a shunt voltage source and current source active power filters (VSAPF and CSAPF) is presented. The method is based on series capacitor structure, which is used to block the fundamental supply voltage component.

Design of series active filter for power quality improvement
2014 International Conference on Electronics, Communication and Computational Engineering (ICECCE), 2014The voltage quality is one of the major concerns for industrial and distribution consumers. In this work, a series active filter for voltage compensation has been verified using vectorial power theory for a three-phase system with non-linear load. The simulation has been designed using MATLAB/Simulink.

Performance Analysis of Series Hybrid Active Power Filter
2013In the area of active power filtering, the Series Hybrid Active Power Filter (SHAPF) has been taken into account increasingly. Existing methods used for controlling SHAPF are either based on detecting source current harmonics or load voltage harmonics.

Design and Implementation of a Hybrid Series Active Power Filter
2005 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drives Systems, 2006This paper presents a single-phase series active power filter, which adopts the structure of shunt combination of passive filter and active power filters, thus is suitable for compensating voltage type harmonic producing load and the voltage distortion by the load terminal in the power system.

Series association of VSI in high power active filtering
PESC Record. 27th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002A series association of 'n' voltage source inverters (VSI) used as an active filter is proposed to perform high power filtering. A multilevel working is obtained with shifted control. An original control loop is defined to balance the n VSI capacitor voltages. Experimental results confirm the simulation and valid the theoretical study.

Hybrid series active power filter for mitigating power quality problems
2017 International Conference on Energy, Communication, Data Analytics and Soft Computing (ICECDS), 2017This paper presents various power quality problems and its mitigation through a hybrid series active power filter. Series filters have less attention in the power quality area due to its high cost of compensation, bulky transformers etc. Even though hybrid series active power filters are used in three phase system it is less utilized in single phase ...
