Series Bosch System Development [PDF]

open access: yes42nd International Conference on Environmental Systems, 2012
State-of-the-art (SOA) carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction technology for the International Space Station produces methane as a byproduct. This methane is subsequently vented overboard. The associated loss of hydrogen ultimately reduces the mass of oxygen that can be recovered from CO2 in a closed-loop life support system.

SERI Laser Scanner System [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A Laser Scanner System (LSS) produces a photoresponse map and can be used for the nondestructive detection of nonuniformities in the photoresponse of a semiconductor device. At SERI the photoresponse maps are used to identify solar cell faults including microcracks, metallization breaks, regions of poor contact between metallization and the underlying ...

11 Essays on Societal Transformation: The Most Important Challenge Facing Humanity

open access: yesCadmus, 2021
Societal transformation can be framed up by starting from the present and moving forward or going to the endpoint and looking back. Incremental improvements to fundamentally flawed human systems will not work, especially in our limited time frame.

Series Arc Fault Characteristics and Detection Method of a Photovoltaic System

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The DC arc is the main cause of fire in photovoltaic (PV) systems. This is due to the fact that the DC arc has no zero-crossing point and is prone to stable combustion. Failure to detect it in a timely manner can seriously endanger the PV system.

Four-Dimensional Painlev\'e-Type Equations Associated with Ramified Linear Equations III: Garnier Systems and Fuji-Suzuki Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This is the last part of a series of three papers entitled "Four-dimensional Painlev\'e-type equations associated with ramified linear equations". In this series of papers we aim to construct the complete degeneration scheme of four-dimensional Painlev ...

Dynamic reliability analysis of series mechanical systems considering strength degradation path dependence of components

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2015
In this paper, dynamic reliability models of series mechanical systems in terms of stress parameters and strength parameters are established, in which strength degradation path dependence (SDPD) and failure dependence of components in the system are ...
