AbstractThe nondialyzable delipidized serovar‐specific main antigen (NDTM antigen) of Leptospira interrogans serovar hebdomadis strain Hebdomadis (a variant which can grow in a synthetic medium) showed a strong inhibition of the complement fixation between the serovar‐specific main (TM) antigen of this strain and the homologous antiserum.

Abstract Background African horse sickness (AHS), caused by the vector‐borne African horse sickness virus (AHSV), is endemic to sub‐Saharan Africa and infection results in high mortality in naïve equine populations. Clinical signs include submucosal petechiae and prolonged bleeding post venepuncture indicative of hypocoagulation.
