El autor estudia la curiosa analogía de la serpiente de bronce de Nm 21,4-9 con Cristo en la cruz y, coincidiendo con diversos estudiosos de hace siglos, la considera excelente. Como ejemplo de “midrás” cristiano, Jn 3,16-21 se desarrolló fácilmente a partir de 3,15, y ambos pasajes empalman sin solución de continuidad.
