Infrared spectra of crystalline and glassy silicates and application to interstellar dust [PDF]
The infrared spectra of crystalline minerals predicted in theoretical condensation sequences do not match the astronomical observations. Since the astronomical spectra are a closer match to glassy silicates, the authors undertook a study to measure the ...

Improved Direct Ink Writing of Liquid Metal Foams via Liquid Additives
The ability to pattern liquid metal is useful for making soft electrical and thermal devices. Dispensing liquid metal from a nozzle naturally results in the formation of spheroidal droplets, making direct‐write printing challenging. Liquid metal foams containing pockets of air can extrude as filaments, albeit inconsistently.

Bio‐Inspired Mechanical Amplification Block on Implantable Tactile Sensors
. ABSTRACT Implantable strain sensors offer opportunities for continuous biomechanical monitoring, but their performance deteriorates severely once embedded in soft tissue due to mechanical shielding that suppresses strain transmission to the sensing layer.
